Melanin
Melanin is a brown pigment produced by cells in the skin called melanocytes.
Melanin dictates how dark or light skin is. Therefore black and asian
people have more melanin in their skin than white people.
Tyrosinase
Tyrosinase is an enzyme which regulates the formation of melanin in the
skin. Therefore chemicals that inhibit Tyrosinase results in less
melanin in the skin.
Epimer
One of two molecules that differ only in the spatial arrangement around
a single carbon atom.
