Age Spots|Liver Spots

Age Spots usually begin to appear on the skin people of 30+on areas of the body had continuous exposure to the sun e.g backs of the hands, on the forearms area, shoulders, face, and around the forehead and the upper chest area,. Other names for the condition are liver spots (nothing to do with the liver condition); Senile or solar lentigines

The skins pigment producing cells (melanocytes) are stimulated into overactivity by long term exposure to the sun, this results in an overabundance of pigment (melanin) being produced the in sun exposured parts of the skin, which results in age spots.

They are mostly tan, brown or black flat spots/patch, have an oval or uneven shape and can be the size of a freckle to a few inches in diameter.
They are generally painless and harmless, and do not itch. Do not get these confused with birthmarks which can sometimes lead to cancer.
