Glycolic Peels

Over the counter products
There are many skin care products containing glycolic acid on the market. For example Peter Thomas Roth - Glycolic Acid 10% Hydrating Gel.Some are made for dry, sensitive, oily or normal skin. They are included in toners, lotions and creams.

Always check label for the amount of Glycolic Acid.  10% is an effective amount

Side effects
There can be a brown discolouration of the skin, this is usually reversible and on rare occasions permanent. This situation occurs when the skin is exposed to the sun after a peel. So remember protection, protection and more protection.
Sometimes the redness on the skin can be persistent.
Glycolic Peels can cause a flare up of cold sores.
